Project Management Blogs You Should Follow in 2013

During 2012 I had the great pleasure of getting to know some of the best project management professionals in the industry. Many of them have blogs or participate in social media. A few of them are well worth your time to follow and read. So here's my list of the project management blogs you should follow in 2013.

In alphabetical order...

A Girl's Guide to Project Management is Elizabeth Harrin's blog. We featured her book, Social Media for Project Managers, on the Project Management Book Club. Her blog aims to provide some direction in the world of project management by offering news, opinion and coverage of the many project management events that happen in the UK. Follow Elizabeth on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+.

Back From Red is Todd Williams's blog. Todd is an expert in rescuing problem projects. We studied his book, Rescue the Problem Project, earlier this year through the Project Management Book Club. Todd's Back From Red blog addresses the reasons for project failure along with methods to avert and correct the problems that cause the failure. Follow Todd on Twitter and LinkedIn.

Guerrilla Project Management is written by Samad Aidane. He writes about the mindset that Project Managers must adopt to be able to effectively manage today's complex projects. You can also follow Samad on Twitter and LinkedIn.

Herding Cats is Glen Alleman's blog. It's a little deeper read than most blogs but full of gems. Glen's blog is an integrative approach to process, tools, and people needed to increase the probability of project success. You can also follow Glen on Twitter.

Human Factor Formula is a blog written by Kevin Ciccotti and focuses on the people side of project management, how to build relationships for project success. Follow Kevin on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.

pduOTD is not really a blog, but instead, an ongoing feed of sources you can use to accumulate PDU's for your re-certification requirements. Run by Martin Chernenkoff, 'PDU Of The Day' offers project managers, business analysts, and lean/agile professionals online develop opportunities. Follow Martin on Twitter.

PMChat is a blog and a live Twitter Chat run by Robert Kelly, Rob Prinzo and Hala Saleh. The blog provides general advice on project management. But the real fun part is the Live Twitter Chat each Friday. They host a new guest each week to discuss a specific topic, then chat it up for an hour on Twitter. You gotta check this one out! On Twitter, follow Robert Kelly, Rob Prinzo and Hala Saleh.

Susanne Madsen is Susanne Madsen's blog (OK, you probably could have guessed that one!). Susanne aims to help you keep things simple in project management as in life. Susanne is also the author of The Project Management Coaching Workbook, an excellent guide that will help you unleash your potential. Follow Susanne on Twitter and LinkedIn.

The Lazy Project Manager is Peter Taylor's blog, the best selling author of The Lazy Project Manager which was the first book we featured on the Project Management Book Club. Peter covers a number of project management topics through his blog, always a good way to stay informed. Follow Peter on Twitter and LinkedIn.

Voices on Project Management--offers insights, tips, advice and personal stories from project managers in different regions and industries. The goal is to get you thinking, and spark a discussion. Follow on Twitter.

I'm sure I've missed some really good project management blogs, and for that I apologize. If you follow a project management blog that isn't listed here, please post a comment so others can find it too.

Wishing all a successful 2013!
